Thomas Edison Charter School South is a public school for grades K-8 that teaches an academically stimulating curriculum. Parents provide transportation and lunch for their students. Parents are expected to volunteer in the classroom, work on parent organization committees, or participate in other approved ways. Students will adhere to a dress code. There is no tuition or unusual fees; however, a donation to the parent organization is encouraged as an alternative to school fundraisers for school activities. Parents of enrolled students automatically become members of the TECS South Parent Organization (PO).
Thomas Edison Charter School South follows all state and federal laws required of public schools and does not discriminate based on race, creed, color, national origin or disability/ability status. Parents understand that this is a school of choice and, therefore, are expected to learn the standards of our program before enrollment or placement on a waiting list (See expectations below). New enrollment will be accepted until classrooms reach capacity. When classrooms reach capacity, applicants will be added to a waiting list. Siblings of enrolled students will be given first preference for enrollment. There may be other preferences as provided by law. As spaces become available, enrollment will occur based on the position in the waiting list. For classes where applications exceed openings, a random drawing will be held during which all new enrollment and waiting lists will be reestablished. Families accepted for enrollment will complete the appropriate registration paperwork within a strict time-frame and then students will be placed in classes.
We plan our budget in the Spring with the information from enrollment. Since we are counting on your commitment for budget planning, please notify us as soon as possible if you have a change in plans. Since many families are waiting to enroll, we are not able to hold places for undecided families.
For proper consideration, applications must be completely filled out, signed, and all enrollment standards met. Enrollment or any other questions can be directed to the school office at (435) 752-0123 or in person at 1275 West 2350 South, Nibley, Utah 84321.
