This deal expires on Monday the 17th at 11:59 PM. Don't miss it! Click here to order.
Spirit Week is coming up! Participation is optional, but it sure is fun!
Monday 17th: 'Merica Monday
Students will still wear dress code, but they may also wear patriotic accessories (no hats, please). A great option (that's super easy) is to wear either a red, white, or blue collared shirt.
Tuesday 18th: Mathletes vs. Athletes
Students will still wear dress code, but they may accessorize with mathlete or athlete items. For example, athletes can wear a team jersey over the top of their dress code; they may also wear athletic socks, etc. Mathletes can wear suspenders, glasses, etc.
Wednesday 19th: Siri or Alexa Day
Teachers will answer and speak like Siri or Alexa to their students throughout the day. (Mrs. Hadsell won't be very good at this one! Sorry, guys!)
Thursday 20th: Throwback Thursday (80's style)
80’s music will be played in the lunchroom during lunch and throughout the day in classes. Soundtracks from: Honey I shrunk the kids, ET, and Back to the Future. Since kindergarten won't be in the lunchroom to hear the music, Mrs. Hadsell will do her best to play some music at the end of our day.
Friday 21st: Spirit Friday
Show your school spirit! Our school colors are blue and gold. Wear a blue or yellow dress code shirt. Or, if you ordered a spirit t-shirt, wear that instead!
A sweet student brought me a little bit of sunshine last week. I'm still smiling!
Thanks for making my day. :)

We've been doing some fun activities in math. The students loved our recent graphing lesson where we conducted a class vote on which pet everyone liked best -- cats or dogs! Check out the results. (Blue = dogs ... Pink = cats)
This is an event you will not want to miss! It's the biggest bash of the entire year. Come join us for games, rides, bounce houses, a bake sale, a silent auction, and more. Stay tuned for details on when/how to buy tickets.
You may download the form here or pick up a form in the blue cubbies at the front office.
Use this link to order school pictures by using the school's unique code 28613HF
Order forms will also be sent home with students.
Someone brought their school supplies in this bag, but I'm not sure who it belongs to. Feel free to come and grab it. I'll put it on the back counter in our classroom Lost & Found. Thanks!

Additional Questions & Mingling
On Back-to-School Night I will be hosting four different Meet the Teacher sessions in my classroom at the times listed above. Families will be welcome to come in, take a seat, listen to a short presentation, and ask questions. Each meeting will last approximately 20 minutes. This will be a great opportunity for parents to receive specific information on how they can create a successful year for their child. Please plan on attending one of these sessions.
If you arrive after a session has begun, please wait until the next scheduled time to join us. Following these sessions, I will be available from 6:30-7:30 pm for additional questions and mingling. Feel free to stop by!
1. In the classroom supply list, each student is asked to supply a plastic homework folder with metal fasteners (solid color preferred). Please bring this folder to Back to School Night. This will help me prepare them and get them ready for the first day of school. You are also welcome to bring the other supplies when you come to Back to School Night. Bringing these when you attend our Meet the Teacher session is often easier than worrying about it on the first day of school.
2. Parent Information Sheet (mailed out earlier this month)
Reading is FUN! If you have a reluctant reader who isn't convinced that books are cool, think outside the box and consider trying a children's magazine. These are some of my favorites, and they're on sale. Woo hoo!

Our lovely librarians have been busy this summer! They've been making sure that all of our friends can come back on campus and pick up some books. So far they've opened their doors on June 6th & 20th as well as July 11th. Come see them on Wednesday, August 1st for their final summer book check-out. Students who come visit will get to keep their books until Back to School Night. For details on library hours, please call the office at 435-752-0123.
Kindergarten entry assessments will take place on August 22, 23, 24. Regular kindergarten classes will not be held on these days. Each student will need to sign up for one 20-minute time slot. Parents will wait in the hallway during the assessment. Click here to sign up for your appointment.
Our first day of kindergarten is just a month away. How exciting!
Back-to-school shopping is in full swing, and I've had parents contacting me with questions about the dress code. You can click here for all the details.
Here's a great deal on Highlights magazine for anyone who's interested. The sale ends on June 17th.
Thanks for joining us at yesterday's graduation. I wish I had pictures to share, but I don't. I do, however, have some artwork from one of our kindergarten friends. This pretty much sums it up. Bye, kindergarten!
Have a great summer, everyone!
