Mrs. Broadhurst is another one of our PE teachers on campus. She teaches the older students and has provided a packet for anyone who's interested in more ideas for how to stay active. Enjoy! #UtahSchoolSpirit This is me when I was in kindergarten. It was Career Day, and I was dressed as a teacher. Teachers had already made a big difference in my life. Thank you to all the terrific teachers I've had through the years -- especially Mr. Byarushengo and Mr. Pyke. And to the best teachers of all: Mom & Dad. I love you! Scholastic has created a pop-up shop where you can order books using our classroom code, but the books will be shipped straight to your home. How wonderful is that?!
Our classroom code: P62V3 Schools across the state of Utah are having Spirit Week at home this upcoming week. TECS is joining in! Here's to a week of FUN! #utahschoolspirit
It's officially spring! What kind of differences can you spy on our weather wall? Who wants to play Show & Tell? Axel does! He sent me a great picture of his clown fish, and his mom gave me permission to post it. If you want to play too, just send me a photo!
Who else loves the muppets?
Check out this classic moment from "Muppet Treasure Island" in 1996. I think a lot of us can relate! Some kindergarten families are coming up with their own science lessons. I love it! Here's an extra resource for anyone who's interested.
Audible is an Amazon company that -- as of today -- is offering FREE streaming of stories. The books are for all ages up to 18. No log in, credit card, etc. Check it out!
Meet our class pet, Kinderpuppy! Some of you already know him; he was gifted to me by a student for Christmas. This pup has been sitting on top of my bookshelf and has been quietly watching us since December. He's ready to say hello and play a bigger role in our classroom. I'll post more photos in the coming days to show you what our puppy is up to!
Spring is officially here! I'm so excited! If you're looking for something fun to do outside while social distancing... this could be it. I got this idea from a friend and her kindergartener. All it took was some sidewalk chalk and some tape. Enjoy! Mr Davis is posting an *optional* daily drawing challenge and it starts today! Anyone can participate—students, parents, and siblings. Just email your finished drawing to Mr. Davis and watch for it to be posted later.
Click over to Art_ThomasEdison on Instagram to participate or just watch the fun.
Dear kindergarteners,
Did you feel that earthquake this morning? Wow! I was in our classroom when it happened. I was planning on showing you this earthquake safety video in April, but I would like you to watch it with your family at home. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy. Your teacher loves you!
We're off to a GREAT start with our at-home learning. Poetry recitations are due this week, and no virus can stop these cuties from performing. Great job, class! If you need a smile today... this will definitely fit the bill. Note: This poem is being shared with parent permission. (Thank you!)
Mrs. McKay (music teacher) says: Here is a list of songs, sing-a-longs, theory, performers, etc. for students if they need something to do music wise. It is mixed up with young and older ideas but can appeal to all ages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFj4m9cX900 sugar chile robinson
