As part of our Grammar lesson yesterday we discussed the fact that when writing poetry, we capitalize the first word in every line. The students were then presented with a single line of verse and their assignment was to write a line of poetry that rhymed with the one given. Their responses were creative and brilliant! We had the best time sharing our verses of rhyme and we decided that we DEFINITELY have poets among us. Way to go, class! Check out some of their rhymes: Through the woods came a big brown bear, Riding a unicycle in a fair. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And it was eating a really white pear. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And a big brown football flying through the air. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And it had a scary stare. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And it had a lot of hair. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And it gave me a back-tingling scare. Through the woods came a big brown bear, With big brown spunky hair. Through the woods came a big brown bear, And it eats people, so you better beware!
