Handwriting
From August to December, we use Tr-Write (3-sided) pencils in the kindergarten classroom. These pencils are designed for little hands, they have an ergonomic triangular shape, they're comfortable to use, and they're easy to control. We especially love them because these pencils make it easier for students to learn the correct pencil grip. If you want to use these at home, you can find them on Amazon (and sometimes at Staples).
Then, from January to May, we use standard 6-sided pencils. For students who struggle to hold their pencil correctly, scroll down to see my favorite rubber pencil grip. There are several types and styles online, but I have found that these work best for my students.
