Today we got to participate in Potential Energy, a hands-on science outreach program hosted by Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. Students were taught about forces of motion such as push and pull. We also explored ways that the shape of an object affects its speed. We had so much fun! A few of our classmates participated in the science fair this year. Some did the project on their own. Others teamed up with older siblings. They did a great job, and I'm so proud of them! Way to go, guys! There are two upcoming AWHC events at which the American West Heritage Center is going to give our school a portion of each ticket that's sold to TECS students, staff, and family! Exciting!
Baby Animal Days: Wednesday, April 7th at 11 am ($9 per ticket) Farm Animal Days: Saturday, April 24th at 11 am ($7 per ticket) We'd love your support by attending if you are able. Due to COVID, AWHC needs to get a count of how many people would attend. If you think you’ll attend both days you can answer both questions. If you think you’ll just attend one, pick which one and select the number of tickets you would purchase. Ages 3 and older require a ticket. *** Please submit your answer here. Responses are needed by Tuesday, March 9th. Thank you for your support! *By answering, you are NOT purchasing a ticket, it simply means you are very likely to attend that day and time. You would purchase your ticket upon arrival at AWHC on the day of the event. Please mention that you are a Thomas Edison Charter School family. Today we learned about families and jobs. This firefighter is a community helper in our valley, and he also happens to be the father of one of our PM classmates. He taught us about how to properly use 9-1-1, what to do if there's a fire, and he showed us how his gear works. We loved it! |
