Dear AM & PM Parents,

You'll be able to read or listen to the books on any devices with the free Kindle and Audible apps. Offer expires 12/31/17.
Thank you to my new kindergarten friend who brought me this wonderful artwork of today's eclipse. I love it! Our first day of school AND an eclipse?! Priceless. The game of Gaga was introduced in PE last year and quickly became a favorite among our students. Our friends at Nibley City have a new regulation size Gaga court (see picture and details below) and we are participating in a competition with other Nibley Schools to win the use of this lively game equipment for our students.
Please support our school by volunteering to help and participating in the Nibley Back to School Movie in the Park to help us win. This will be a fun movie themed event with the Star Wars Movie Rogue One showing after exciting pre-show activities. Your children will enjoy meeting Storm Troopers, playing Death Star Gaga, and becoming Jedi along with other fun activities. Please see flyer below. We hope to win the contest and encourage you to work with your child, our teachers, and parent organization to support the event by entering the Star Wars contest either by building a cardboard pod racer, or volunteering to run an activity station prior to the movie. Volunteer hours at this event will count towards the Thomas Edison parent volunteer hours expectation. Details about the Movie in the Park School Contest are at https://tinyurl.com/swgaga Contact Chad at Nibley City to Volunteer: 801-360-3183 (mobile) or [email protected] volunteer opportunities are first come first served. Dear parents,
The state of Utah has asked all kindergarten classrooms to host entry and exit assessments for their students. Our beginning-of-the-year testing will take place on August 21-23. A sign-up sheet with available appointment times will be posted at my classroom on Back to School Night. This is an exciting opportunity that will help me tailor my instruction in order to meet the specific needs of my students. It will also highlight each student’s academic growth and development upon completion of the exit assessments in May. The kindergarten schedule for the first week of school will be as follows: August 21-23

I look forward to seeing you! Mrs. Hadsell Last year I was introduced to Donors Choose. I decided to enroll so I could set up one project a year for my classroom. Last year, due to the the kindness of friends and strangers, pioneer costumes were purchased for my 4th graders so they could better enjoy our field trip to This is the Place Park.
This year, being new to kindergarten, I decided to set up a project that will help us celebrate at the end of the school year. Through Donors Choose, I hope to supply our classroom with FUN games and activities for Field Day in May. We're requesting a parachute activity pack, a ring toss, a beanbag toss, additional supplies to help us run a fun relay race where we try to avoid breaking pretend eggs. I'm excited! This project will be live online until December 5th. If you know anyone who would like to donate, feel free to share. Thank you! <3 ~ Mrs. Hadsell Class Location & Dates: Thomas Edison North Campus September 13, 20, 27, October 4 & 11 5:00 - 7:00 pm The Parent Spalding class is an expectation of all parents with students in Kindergarten-4th grade. The only out-of-pocket cost to parents is the $13.00 binder. Parents also need a phonogram CD as well as phonogram cards. These may be purchased from the front office. They will also be available at the class for participants to use.
