It truly was an amazing year. I can't believe it's over! Congratulations, class of 2019! Thursday was our end-of-year party. Thank you to everyone who made it such a huge success! (Photo releases were signed at the beginning of the year in order for student photos to be published on our blog.)
Yesterday was Crazy Hair Day. Check out these hairdos (and smiles)! (Photo releases were signed at the beginning of the year in order for student photos to be published on our blog.)
Today's crazy weather couldn't stop our Field Day fun! We moved our activities inside, we stayed warm and dry, and we played HARD. Thanks for your help, volunteers! (Photo releases were signed at the beginning of the year in order for student photos to be published on our blog.)
Tuesday (May 14th) was Tropical Tuesday for Spirit Week on campus. We're ready for some beach weather! (Photo releases were signed at the beginning of the year in order for student photos to be published on our blog.)
Check out this new batch of field trip photos from Mrs. Jensen! They're great! (Photo releases were signed at the beginning of the year in order for student photos to be published on our blog.)
Two easy steps to help us win:
1. Visit the book fair on campus this week. 2. Sign the roster. Whichever classroom has the most parents visit the book fair (and sign the roster) will win the Scholastic shopping spree. No purchase necessary. :) It's one of my favorite days of our kindergarten year... Mother's Day Tea!!! We treated Mom like a queen, she wore a pink crown, and we ate cupcakes and drank chocolate milk. The best part -- smiles, laughter, friendship, and so many great memories! <3 Thanks for coming! This summer, the Thomas Edison South Library will be open select Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 am. This is a great opportunity for Thomas Edison South students and parents/guardians returning in August to continue reading books from the library over the summer. All patrons interested in checking out books over the summer need to fill out this permission slip, and have a parent/guardian sign it. (Permission slips are available inside the library.) Since parents need to stay with their children when visiting during the summer, they can add to their volunteer time requirement by helping to shelve books while they wait.
To help our students fundraise to go to Washington DC in June for the National History Day Competition, Kara Catano arranged an IHOP night for next Tuesday, May 14th from 4 - 8 pm. 20% of all the proceeds they make during those hours will go to the school and all you have to do is take in the flier or mention that you are from Thomas Edison Charter School. It is a great way to have some awesome food and support these awesome students who are representing the entire state of Utah at the same time.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Join next year's P.O. board! You can find this display at the front office. Have you seen our cute door?!
Thank you, everyone, who helped make this possible. I absolutely love it! Our art teacher, Mr. Davis, introduced our kindergarteners to pointillism. They did great! Scholastic has loaded their fliers with tons of great deals for summer reading.
