Sometimes students wonder why we memorize poetry at Thomas Edison Charter School. Memorization and recitation help build confidence and public speaking skills, but they also allow students to commit to memory some of the finest selections of literature available. One student in our class is already applying these skills outside of the classroom. It's fantastic! With permission from his mother, I'm sharing his exciting news. Colton Blankman will be an official entertainer at the Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival which will take place from May 27-30 on Antelope Island. We're proud of you, Colt, and we're cheering you on!
