This afternoon, we finished reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The class loved it! The end of the book definitely left the class ready to dive into the rest of the series. It's worth checking out. There are seven titles in The Chronicles of Narnia--The Magician's Nephew; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; The Horse and His Boy; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; and The Last Battle. | At the end of the day today, I also gave the class a brief introduction to another one of my favorite books--Wonder by R. J. Palacio. It's described as a book about an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face. I love it because it's written in a voice that 4th graders can totally relate to, and it has an amazing message. It's a book about fear, insecurity, the unknown, love, friendship, transformation, and the fact that goodness wins. It's a must-read for adults and kids alike! |
